I'm Back!

Hey everybody, I know that I haven't made any posts for over a month but I have been getting more free time which allows me to start blogging again! First of all I would like to mention Rebecca Bross's injury. I was watching it on T.V. and I started to cry when she started to cry:( I hope her a very quick recovery so that she can come back stronger than ever. Also, USA Nationals was a freak show they have so many falls! and the Russians are back! After the fall of Mustafina and with Komova not being in the best shape of her life, they looked like they were out of the running for the team title. But after I saw videos from the Russian Cup, those girls are looking strong! Even Viktoria Komova. We will be seeing Vika and other world team member Maria Paseka later this month at the Ghent World Cup along with the Diana duo, Stepanova and Sapronova. So we will see how much the Russians have improved since the Russian Cup. Below will be a link to International Gymnastics Magazine Online so that you can see the entire participant list. The Romanians were suppose to go, but once again, B&B have pulled out of the world cup:( I am so excited to start blogging again so please check in regularly!

Legacy Girls can Swing

So we all know that Macko Caquatto is one of the best uneven bar workers in the US. That is one of the main reasons why she was picked for last years World Team. But her two teammates Anna Li, and her sister Bridgey, can swing just as good as her, and even better. Anna Li has A 6.2 SV, the same as Macko, and is working on some big upgrades. Right now she is doing a hop full geinger combo. but she is changing the geinger into a Shushunova, or a full twisting tkatchev, which would bring up her SV by .4 and up to a 6.6. And Bridgey is just as good, with having a 6.5 SV. She has very unique combinations, such as a stalder full- maloney half, the same combination as Aliya Mustafina. And a toe on full- Ricna combo. Bridgey is also very good on beam and vault. she does a double twisting Yerchenko, and a tucked brandi- Korbut combo on beam. But her floor is vague, her coach Wu Jiani, says that she will be doing a simpler routine at the Classics. We can only wait and see how the Legacy Elite girls do at the Covergirl Classic and Nationals, but I won't be surprised if they do well, and one or more of them make the World team this year. Below is a link to a Legacy Elite workout video on Gymnastike, as well as all three of the girls bar routines.

I am so excited for the Classics!!!:) Can't wait!

Australian Nationls

Lauren has been dominating the Australian Nationals to nobodies surprise. She had the highest all around score day 1, and bettered it by about a full point on the second day. She has been scoring very low on floor though, scoring only a 14.00 on the second day and even lower on the first. Will the reining World Champion even qualify for floor finals? She still has three months to improve but she is definitely looking shaky on one of her specialty events. Here is a link to IG to read an article on the event and see the results for the senior and junior categories.

Mariya Livchikova

There are so many words to describe this gymnast. Beautiful, graceful, elegant, powerful, inconsistent... It really is a shame that she is so inconsistent, because she really is so talented. She can vault like most of her teammates cannot even dream of doing. She is not the best bar worker, but she has beautiful lines. She has some of the most difficult and original combinations on beam. And her tumbing combined with her graceful dance and choreography makes in my opinion the best floor routine in the world right now. She is classical and dynamic, something that we haven't seen from the Ukraine in a VERY long time. We have seen some talents from the Ukraine since the break up of the powerful Soviet Union, such as Lilia Podkopyeva, Viktoriya Karpenko, and Alina Kozich. But there is just something about Mariya that makes me go WOW! Whether it is her falling of the beam three times, or seeing her stunning floor routine. Now lets talk about her routines. She does a double twisting Yerchenko, which is not always fully round, and a front pike with a half. She is also the only Ukrainian right now to be doing a double twisting Yerchenko. On beam she does a front arieal straight into a front summy tucked, and back hand spring into an arabian, which is shy high, and an arieal LOSO combination, with a double tuck dismount. She use to do one of the most beautiful Onodi's that I have ever seen, and a dismount of two back hand springs into a double back. But so far this year, she has not performed these elements. And the major elements in her floor routine are a double front, triple twist, and a memmel turn. And with the upgrades that she is making on floor, she can have a 6.0 SV. She is very capable of qualifying to a beam and floor finals at this years World Championships, and maybe even next years Olympics. Mariya is unfortunately injured right now, but we can hopefully see her fully recovered at the World Championships. Below are some of her routines from this year and 2010.

Japan Cup Competitors

It seems like it will be an interesting event. We will see Cheng Fei and Huang Qiushuang. This will be Huang's comeback event after her minor injury that made her miss the Chinese Nationals. And we get to see how much better Cheng Fei is getting. This is going to be a very good event with other big names being Lauren Mitchell, Jessica Savona, and the whole entire Chinese team! I'm not very acquainted with anybody on the Korea team though. This is also Talia Chiarelli's first international event for Canada, and it maybe her first period. So below are the participants!
